Background & Key Issues
CJ Management Research Institute is a new research institute jointly established by the CJ Group and CJ Talent Institute. From a microscopic perspective, CJ Management Research Institute is a management strategy institute, but from a macroscopic perspective, it is a place that represents the CJ Group and where company executives can gather. It aims to become a multiplex area for enjoying various cultural activities, with facilities including multipurpose halls and a guest house for events. Therefore, we needed a BI strategy that could manifest the diverse functions of the institute as an independent building, as well as representing the CJ Group's brand identity, and a signage system for the whole building that manifested the various functions of the institute.
Approach & Solution
We developed an independent font in Chinese characters for the institute, based on the basic CJ Only One font, in order to show the institute's relationship with the group. We also created a symbol mark for the institute, and applied it to the overall applications and design to establish a consistent tone and manner. We invented a signage system that fitted well with the BI and the building, which was intuitively designed in consideration of the characteristics of the visitors to the institute and the somewhat complex structure of the building.
